Luvox is actually one of the best medicines to treat OCD, but is not well known because it has no brand name company in the US. It's super good with OCD, though.

The main medications for OCD and eds (a most anxiety and mood disorders) are SSRI antidepressants - of which I believe pexeva is one. Others included Zoloft, Lexapro, Prozac, Luvox... They are all deemed to be fairly effective in the treatment of OCD, however how effective they are varies from person to person.

Firstly, wait at least 2-4 weeks to see if a) the medication sets in and makes a difference to your mood, b) if the side effects diminish (the side effects usually subside within this time period). Another idea as some said above is to take the medication at night (if you take it in the morning) or vice versa.. maybe the time of day if effecting your body. As long as you take it at the same time each day.

Secondly, talk to your doctor before altering your medication at all..

And if this medication still doesn't work best fo you, there are a whole range to try, there is sure to be one out there that will work for you!!

Good luck! :)

Are you taking it in the morning? If so try taking it just before you going to sleep. Or you can try another SSRI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSRI).
Long term use of sleeping pills are not recommended.
A drug called clomipramine works well for OCD and may not cause sleeping disturbances. Talk to a clinical psychiatrist.

I meet a lot of people that say they don't like pexeva/paxil. I for one didn't either. If you are having problems I suggest Zoloft..

Whatever you do... watch the aspirin... may cause toxic effects when combining with anti-depressants.
