God created us equal and s/he wants us to be happy right? So why would s/he be against homosexuals? It's not always their decision to be attracted to the same sex....some people are just born that way. And they're happy right? My friend is a lesbian and her girlfriend is what keeps her living and keeps her happy. Why should that be wrong? What makes it a sin? Your opinion on the matter?

while it may or may not be their decision on who they are attracted to it is their decision to act on it.
the act is a sin according to gods word.
just like we think about doing something bad or sinful....... we can choose not to act on it.
its sinful because sex is for the purpose of procreation (having babies ).......same sex cannot have babies.

The Bible does not support equality. It condemns homosexuals and Palestinians. I don't believe that the ancient scriptures accurately portray the God that I believe in.
I understand God's rules regarding sexual morality in this way: if sex is part of love, then it is good. Loving and then leaving a partner is bad because your leaving can damage that person's ability to love and God wants us to love. So promiscuous sex is wrong. Many people associate homosexuality with promiscuity and so they condemn all homosexuals as being people who won't commit to a relationship. I don't believe that this is still true, but it may have been true in the past. Really, as much as I would not want to judge homosexuals, a male/female sexual relationship just seems more natural to me and that makes it seem more in keeping with what God would want. That might just be because of a limitation in my own ability to think.
The other thing is that originally (we've lost most of this now) serving God was supposed to help humans survive and our long-term survival depends on having and raising children. Same-sex couples could adopt children if they got enough acceptance by our society. I'm sorry. You aren't going to find a whole lot of help in this answer. All I can really offer is this: God tells me not to hate. I wish God would say it loud enough that everyone could hear.

Actually, the Bible does NOT say that God wants us to be happy; the Bible says that God wants us to be GOOD. Jesus asked us to deny ourselves and our desires and to follow him no matter what it cost us to do so.

Sometimes being good makes us unhappy, but this is just a test to see what we love more, being godly or feeling pleasure. Jesus said that the most important commandment was to love God more than you love anything or anyone else. Someone who loves sex, romance, happiness, or pleasure more than they love God is not obeying God.

Everybody has some weakness to overcome. Some people have a drug addiction, some people have a sexual addiction, some people are greedy, proud, selfish, or are attracted to the same sex. We do not get to choose our weaknesses, but we are expected to resist temptation -- no matter what it is -- even if it makes us unhappy.

In the long run, being good will eventually make someone happy, but they will probably have to become unhappy first, until they learn to overcome temptation.

Jesus was for equality to a degree. The God of the Old Testament was not. Paul in the New Testament was extremely sexist, as are most, if not all, modern Christian denominations.

The Goddess who is honored in the Wiccan religion says that "all acts of love and pleasure are [her] rituals". Wicca is equal opportunity whether you are male or female, heterosexual or homosexual. They believe in karma and accountability but not sin.

Personally I don't see anything wrong wtih being lesbian if that is who you are. I don't get why it's a sin but then I don't believe in sin.

no where in the bible does it say we are equal. You're getting the declaration of independence mixed up with biblical things. The declaration of independence was based on the Mohawk teachings handed down from father to son, from chief to people, by word of mouth. They were not allowed to alter one word of it. They did not believe in writing things down. It may be that they got the words from the Creator, however, I don't think its biblical. And homosexuals do make a conscious decision to be homosexual. In the same way that we decide to be heterosexual. Sexual feelings are not rampant, like wild horses. They can be easily tamed with Self-Control. don't make excuses for sinners. We all fall, but we are all guilty. Whether we are homo or heterosexual

The Bible is not an infallible document. It was written down by men, and maybe also women, who were fallible and subject to their own prejudices. Besides, if you're Christian, Jesus and Paul said you can throw out the rules in Leviticus. So not only do you not have to worry about homosexuality, you can also wear cotton-poly blends! Yay!

Jesus spent most of his time talking about how everyone should be nice to each other, and stop judging each other, and stop being such hypocrites. He never mentioned gay people, and he hung out with the prostitutes. I can't believe he would condemn your friends to hell for loving each other and making each other happy.

The problem people make is assuming the bible is "God's word"...it's not, it was written by men and people always make mistakes and always have biases. The book was written well after the death of Jesus, so nobody knows how God feels about the subject. I don't think he'd consider people's natural urges sinful...that's just silly.

My opinion is that God's word states homosexuality is a sin. Why? I can't answer you because God does not say why...except in the book of Leviticus, where He calls it an abomination.

It doesn't matter whether the argument is people are "born that way" or not. We have a sin nature when we are born. That doesn't make sin alright in God's eyes. I'm sorry....but I believe what He says, and he says to do these things is sin.

I'm guessing from your avatar that you are a woman. The Bible does not even support equal treatment for women. You are the property of your husband.
But it was written by men who wanted to stay in power.
