I'm getting mine done with a friend next weekend, and heres what we wanna know:
Which is safer gun, or needle?
How bad is it when they peirce it?
Does it hurt more while, or after the piercing
We've heard different things, but we need you opinion

lets see....gun, it doesnt hurt much after being pierced, during the piercing. I have alot of piercing's and I have to say that one hurt the most for the longest time, honestly about 4 months after I got it done. Followed all the directions for cleaning but it still hurt very bad. Hvae had it done now for 16 years it never bothers me anymore.

Mine was done with a gun by a professional. It was more painful after it was done. Once you can change it, I recommend a hoop. Although it's a pain to get in, it's easier to sleep in, but you have to be careful when you or someone else is brushing your hair. I've had mine for almost 10 years now and I usually don't even remember it's there. The next time it gets ripped out, though, it's not going back in!

it is much safer with a needle. guns can not be sterilized, so you share blood with whoever was pierced before you. Hep C can live for days outside the body. Guns can also shatter cartilage, causing the need for reconstructive surgery.

It will only hurt for a few seconds, and may be tender for a few days to 2 weeks after. Pain is different for everyone. Make sure you get proper aftercare instructions from your piercer.

Okay I had the upper ear pierced when I was 16 - It was done with a gun by professional - it hurts a little when they pierce it - and throbs when it is done
It hurt me more after it was done - and after 9 yrs, I still occaionally get twinges of pain if I lay on it
words of advice - dont lay on that side for a while, keep twisting it , even if it hurts, make sure you clean it regularly, be careful not to let your hair get caught in it - tell hairdressers its there - I once had it ripped out when a hairdresser caught it with her comb

my upper ear has been done a few different times..its safer with a gun and it normally does not hurt til after the fact..with me it kept me from laying on it here nad there..but it only hurts when touched or it has pressure..it affects different peopl differently..with some it does not hurt at all while with others it hurts them.. but you 'll be alright..trust me..

its safer with a needle. most places don't clean the guns as well as they should. i had mine done and wasn't that bad as far as pain goes its just kinda hard to sleep on right after you have it done.

hmmm i got 2 done on my left upper part of the cartilage and honestly it wasnt as bad as i thought. i really thought it was goin to really hurt in 2 sec they were done w/ da gun n it burned literally for 10 sec the only prob was takin care of it u have to make sure its clean and you turn it
