WHY would Christians make a holiday just to try to deface it later??

now Samhien or Saween may well be an invitation to the occult.

but first we must define Occult.

The word occult comes from the Latin occultus (clandestine, hidden, secret), referring to the 'knowledge of the secret' or 'knowledge of the hidden' and often popularly meaning 'knowledge of the supernatural', as opposed to 'knowledge of the visible' or 'knowledge of the measurable', usually referred to as science. The term is sometimes popularly taken to mean 'knowledge meant only for certain people' or 'knowledge that must be kept hidden', but for most practicing occultists it is simply the study of a deeper spiritual "reality" that extends beyond pure reason and the physical sciences.

Many Pagan religions and belief systems were forced underground by Christians. so our knowlege was kept secret and our rituals were kept secret. so by this definition you could say that
Saween or Samhien are holidays that invite people to take part in the Occult. by taking part in ancient traditions that were once kept secret. and it may well open them to a desire to educate thmselfes further in the ways of the world.

however again we must have a clear definition of Occult and know that Occult does not automaticaly mean that you are joining a religious CULT or practicing OCCULTISM. occult simply means knowlege kept hidden, or secret.

so YES halloween that is derived form Samhien and Saween. is most definatly an invitation to KNOWLEGE.

and there is CANDY too....

Halloween is for fun. I seriously doubt someone can be possessed by candy. Although they may get a sugar buzz and act a bit nutty. Kids are bobbing for apples not square dancing with your devil.
I am a Pagan, I celebrate Samhain which falls on November 7th this year. I will be honoring my ancestors, giving thanks for the final harvest, and banishing negativity in my life.

Halloween is about candy and kids and dressing up. It is originally a Catholic holiday. I am pagan as another pagan pointed out we celebrate samhain. I also will honor my dead ancestors and do some vanquishing of negativity in my life.

I guess maybe if you're a satanist or something. I think it's just a fun day to dress up and bring my kids trick or treating.
