Not all women are looking for a free ride... Some of us have good jobs, own our own homes and even foot the bill on evenings out.
You might be talking about someone who is young and hasn't figured out that life is a lot of hard work and not just a bed of roses.
I feel women are very giving during the years they are rearing their children and keeping the fires burning in their marriages.
To the point of being sacrificial, but that's our choice when we love our families.
My best advice to you is to stay away from high maintenance woman who are only interested in what you can do for them. A healthy relationship is about giving, not taking.
Look for the good qualities in people and you'll find them.

women deserve respect as equally as men do. It really depends on the woman, there is no use generalising about all women are selfish. Some women are very demanding and selfish and others are not. Same as men, men can be very demanding on the woman, expecting the whole world from them whereas there are men who really respect the woman and their needs. So stop generalising, it's up to you who you hang around with, date or marry, not all women are selfish, you just need to have that ability to pick the good ones out. If man respects the woman, the woman respects the man and that way there is equal satisfaction. Good luck with your future relationships!! =)

Oh My G-d!!! me Me ME!! I Love ME!!! I LOVE spending all of your money on useless crap, such as fake nails! And these purses!! OMFG!!! Look at that 500$ Scarf!!! I gotta have it!!!
Sad how some people are truly like this. But no women are not selfish. It just seems like you picked couple worms that don't appreciate you. Take your time in a relationship, and allow yourself to truly know the person.

Me and my husband both work, and we can not always afford to go out. I married him, because he is tight with his money. I got tired of men who spend money, and do not have anything to show for it. I like a man who can take care of his family and have money in the bank for a rainy day. That is what is important.
