Got fat, felt like a zombie. It isn't the best drug to be on to treat bipolar unless you are severely manic. It is good for short time use for severe manic episodes. It can cause a condition called tardive dysknesia used too long. That is when you get uncontrolled muscle movements, like twitching or making weird faces. A typical mood-stabilizer like lithium is better. I happen to love Lamictal, it works well for depression and is a mood stabilizing agent.

Yes, I was for several years. It worked really good, but the labs need to be checked often. It caused some problems in my pituitary gland. Now I have a small mass at the base of that gland in my head. I do not like anti-psychotics, but my psychiatrist said it was one of the more safer ones out these days...just get regular blood work. Good luck!!
