Use a good conditioner or treatment a couple of times a week. Give your hair a break from heat styling every once in a while. Get a trim to get rid of any split ends you might have (these can travel up the shaft of the hair). To give the appearance of healthy and shiny hair, apply a shine serum or gloss to your hair when it is damp (damp hair absorbs better than dry). Hope that helps.

drink more water and start taking the supplement Cod Liver Oil... sounds kinda gross but you can't even taste it because it is in a gel cap and it really does improve your hair, skin, and nails.
Also don't use really cheap hair conditioner, shampoo matters less but you get what you pay for. Also don't wash and or condition your hair too much. Unless you have an occupation which gets you dirty or you lead an excellerated life of activity you probablly shouldn't wash and condition your hair more than three or four times a week. That is because it washes out the natural oils which are needed somewhat to be healthy.
Last thing, easy on the hair spray, gel, and mousse. Though the spray is what is the worst... try a natural look every once in awhile, you will have to was less and things will be hunky dorey

Usually if you wash your hair everyday it causes your hair to become dry. I wash my hair about every two-three days. This allows time for the natural oils to absorb through the hair. Some think that all you have to do is use conditioner as a sibsitute, but this is not true. Conditioner is good to use (which I do use it), but you still need your natural oils. The same thing goes with dry skin.

Buy hot oil treatment... comes in 3 pack usually. Get a good brand. Wash hair in shampoo for dry damaged hair and use healthy shampoo and conditioner. Ask your stylist for a good brand or buy one like Pantene. Leave the conditioner on 3 minutes in the shower and then run warm water on hair while rinsing it out. Then apply hot oil treatment that has been sitting in a glass of hot water while you shower. Wrap an warmed towel over hair and let sit for 10 minutes. Rinse as directed.
I recommend Paul Mitchel leave in conditioner too. Spray it in after you rinse the hot oil out. I like to rinse that oil out with cool water too. Comb through and style. Repeat weekly unmtil your hair is improved. Also take some omega 3 oil suppliments.

You might not be eating enough foods that are good for the hair. You may need more protein type of food, such as meat.
After my operation I did not feel like eating and my hair was falling out. Once I began to eat again it came back.
So, use some of the hair products mentioned in some of the other answers you got, but make sure you are eating right too.

Drink lots and lots of water...keep it clean...keep all the split ends cut off...never brush wet hair, use a comb.....use a good conditioner and leave it in for at least 15 minutes each time...eat properly...and have proper rest. Pony tail holders, elastic and clips are hard on the hair..don't use too often...also over dyeing, perming, curling irons, straighteners, hair blowers, wind, sun all fry the hair...treat it like a new baby and it will be gorgeous :)

Go to a stylist and keep up a good routine of cutting and deep heating conditioning treatments in the salon. Buy top quality products and always use them and nothing else. They DO make a difference. "Instacure" by Matrix is one of the best leave in, weightless, repair treatments I know of on the market. You will notice a difference immediately.
