You should not have bought that laptop from a Drug Dealer. He'll use the money to finance terrorism. Laptops are the most stolen items in America. Don't say that you didn't know.

Go to the Manufacturer's website and look for the download/support page. Look for the drivers for that specific model.

cl Start
cl Settings
cl Control Panel
cl System
cl Hardware
cl Device Driver
R-cl on the item to be checked. Click Properties.
That will tell you if the item is working properly.

To update the driver:
Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardward, Device Driver
click the icon for the item you want
click the “update driver” button on the toolbar.

Maybe restarting will clear this up for you. Got this information also from webopedia.

blue screen of death
Last modified: Friday, June 13, 2003

Abbreviated BSOD, an error that can appear on computers running in a Windows environment. This includes even the earliest versions of Windows, such as Windows 3.0 and 3.1, and still occurs in later versions such as Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000. Jokingly called the blue screen of death because when the error occurs, the screen turns blue, and the computer almost always freezes and requires rebooting.

Laptops usually have sound built in to the motherboard. So, your sound driver should have come with the laptop.

If you have a Dell, go to Dell's website and search for your particular model (such as Dell Inspiron 5600 or whatever) and find the drivers for your particular model. Likewise with HP or whatever brand of laptop you have.
