Atheists are treated like freaks in the United States yet we're not the ones that believe there's an invisible person in the sky with super powers, that said invisible man created everything just because he was bored and need a way to stroke his ego, that humans have only been around for 7,000 years (all the fossils that prove evolution to be are fake), dinosaurs weren't real, and etc..... and those who believe in all that non-supported bulls*** are considered the social norm?
How exactly does this happen?

VerdeOjos,
I see absolutely no reason nor evidence to consider Hell, Heaven, or any afterlife as anything more than wishful thinking.
Evolution doesn't say we evolved from monkeys, it says we share a common ancestor. Big difference, princess. Now, we have fossils to prove evolution, where's your proof for that invisible guy in the sky with super powers?

Tim,
That is one of the most bias sites I've ever seen. How can anyone take it seriously?

If you think that in order to believe in "God" you have to believe all that nonsense... well, given that choice, I can certainly see why you're an atheist! However please consider the possibility that not everything is quite so black or white.
I am not an atheist. However I don't believe that humans have only been around 7000 years, that dinosaurs are fake, or that the concept of the divine can be reduced to an invisible man with super powers.
Hope that helps!

Wecome to the Freak Show! ; )
Yea, that Big Daddy in the Sky concept is a joke. Especially when you realize just how literally they take it! LOL!
At least us Pagans know that our fairy tales are symbolic metaphors!
But don't they really make ya feel smart? ; )
Really, whenever I need a self esteem boost, I just come here! And thank Goddess for my education!
Blessed Be...

Marketing my friend. There is money in the Jesus business. Always has been. Don't forget that they market to same people who once paid Gary Dahl $3.95 for over 1 million pet rocks. Most people will buy anything, especially a one way ticket to heaven. Don't you think it's funny how much money God needs?

Relax my friend. What goes on today has been going on forever and will always be going on, it just appears in a different way.
The ego's of the masses are creating a bad karma for their society, don't fall in with that. Go inwards and focus on yourself, paradoxically, that is the only way to help others. Clear yourself of all the mind clutter and hate and focus on the present, the now.

As it happens, people tend to ignore the more likely choice, or even factual proof itself. Take 9/11, for example... I pity the fools who believe it was an inside job.

I think "pathetic" is a better description. You have first hand evidence that it really is possible for damn near everyone to be wrong.
...think about that in other aspects of life as well, such as politics, and the general concept of authority.

I believe is it too comical for you to come to a religious section yet you say that you don't believe in God. Too Ironic and mentally unstable? Yes!

I never got the impression they are treated like freaks. I notice that so called Bible Thumpers or the really religious regardless of religion are treated like freaks.

When belief (that defines who a person is and their whole world view) is threatened, those whose belief is shaky must deal with the threat by strong attack. And the best attack is to marginalize the attacker.
