The LORD is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath. He takes revenge on all who oppose him and furiously destroys his enemies! The LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet. At his command the oceans and rivers dry up, the lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wilt. In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed. Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence. The LORD is good. When trouble comes, he is a strong refuge. And he knows everyone who trusts in him. But he sweeps away his enemies in an overwhelming flood. He pursues his foes into the darkness of night. (Nahum 1:2-8 NLT)

It is weird, I'll admit it. But it does have a point.
Can you imagine if the Bible only said good things about God???
Then many more would say, "How can God defeat the devil and protect his children from evil, if God is only a sissy?"
God has to be scary to some people. He has to be scary to me and you, sometimes. It keeps us on our knees, it reminds us that we are small, pathetic creatures who don't deserve His love and forgiveness.
Yet He gives us His love and forgiveness.
It's probably a way of keeping people in check. Heaven knows, we all need to be kept in check....
Just sit down on your own one night, and think, "God, help me to understand this and accept this the way I should, the way You want me to."
I'm a Christian, but I also need proof. I love history and forensic stuff, so I battle with this a lot. I say that to God often. But He always helps me out.
Good luck. God Bless.

Isn't that what God always did? All-knowing God gave us a planet with a lot of risks. The risks of earthquakes for example. Earthquakes are caused by this silly planet. Still, they pray to Him to protect them. Christians have never heared of product-liability.

I would say "STUDY" ! , look around you, look at the world in general, you should know people die everyday because of greed, and the want of power, know the nine fruits, define the words of scripture and you will be amazed at what is there, just know this there is a difference between world and earth !

Why does Satan fight so hard to make sure others don't believe the Bible is the truly Word of God? Do people really think we who have studied the Bible for 30 years will believe someone who probably never even read it?..

You sound very unstable and easily led astray....apparently you are wrestling the Scriptures to your own destruction.

"... They that are unlearned and unstable do wrestle, as they do other Scriptures, to their own destruction". (II Peter 3:16)

He has punishment for the guilty. Christ paid a price for the guilty all they have to do is believe.

God's Gospel:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
