Faith is a drug that should be outlawed. It is infinitely more dangerous than marijuana because while marijuana alters your perception for a few hours, faith alters it for life. If people believe that they are going to live after death, that will cause them to make drasticly different choices on earth. People live their lives based on their beliefs.

Me: When your drug affects others negatively, it should be restricted. When Christians don't let us research on stem cells or have abortions, and when Muslims blow themselves up along with a bus of Jews so they can be martyrs and go to heaven, faith stops being a harmless drug and starts to interfere with lives. Something needs to be done.

Drug - a substance given to treat or prevent disease or to lessen pain. So where do you see the connection? Perhaps you are a supporter of the communist view that "religion is the opiate of the masses"? Are you a communist? So no, religion should not be illegal.
More dangerous than than marijuana? Then based on your views religion is more dangerous then heroin, cocaine, meth, Vicodin, Oxycontin, Valium, etc.; correct.
Well, you might want to be driving your family on the highway with 80% of the drivers high on the above mentioned narcotics..the percentage of Americans who have faith in their religion.
But I would rather be on the road with 80% of the drivers who have faith.
Their perceptions may last a life time while drivers with their perception altered for just a few hours on marijuana or meth are more likely to kill you or your family in an accident. Why do you think we have laws regarding DUI and non are associated with faith?
Go back to doing a few more lines and then drive home. With any luck the cops will pull you over. Or maybe you have "faith" in your driving while high.

This is very true. When you say things like this people will often tell you you are a fascist for trying to control what people are allowed to believe. But i agree, faith in baseless religions is a dangerous thing which influences how people act too much.
Not only that, but a religious persons brain is negatively affected by the constant drilling of religious information as it closes off sections of their thinking mind which relate to logical thinking.
Religion is harmful to society, though it may have served a purpose back in the day to control the mob, we are a much smarter civilization these days, and I'm looking forward to the day we don't require fairy tales to make people feel better about the fact they will die someday.

Wrong you can not die. Without the - you -nothing exists. All life forms are the center of everything. This is possible because time is a liquid and that is one of its functions. You are the center of everything as is everyone else. I don't need a god to tell me what to do. I know what to do. I've got plans for humanity for the next one to one hundred thousand years. I have a lot of limitations with this body but so does everyone else. Use it lose it and go on.

You're right, but faith is like alcohol. You can't get rid of it. Look at prohibition; it was a complete failure. Scared and superstitious people need their mental crutches to get through life, so if they want to keep believing in Santa Claus, Jesus Christ, or the Easter Bunny, just let them do it. It would be like outlawing retarded people. They don't really do that much harm, so just smile and pat their head and leave them to it.

Whoa, sir. I believe in an afterlife, doesn't mean that I am not concerned with what will happen after I am gone. My child will be here. I certainly do not want to leave this world more screwed up than when I got here. I live my life based on what makes sense to me.

exactly. another thing is why are they allowed to go door to door selling it (jehovahs witnesses)...i think that what u believe in is your opinion and you should do that on your own free will, why sell it. i also think that the christians are totally wrong for what they have done. if no one believes me, look into your history a little bit. anyone who WASNT a christian was killed BY christians and were called witches, even when they weren't. i think religion is a security blanket. its a story; told to scare you into doing good and if you dont u will suffer the ultimate suffering-hell.
