pretty much so , just a waste of resouces and money that with out thinking about the impact it will have in the animals who live there and in the so many unique plants which are being treatened to disappear by such project .
i also think that someone needs to put its priorities straight . five years have already pass today 2006 and still the idiot which attack USA is nowhere near a jail or a tomb . instead we are in state of denial over a war which is being lose due to not having enough local support from the iraquies and to not taking proper care of their border which allows weapons to come everyday and are causing so many deaths .

It all depends on whether or not they make it so that nobody can get over, under or through it. If they don't do that, then yes it's a total waste of money.
If you ask me, the fence should be three parallel fences separated by about 10 to 15 feet. The fence in the middle should be 12 feet high with dense razor wire attached along the bottom on each side and razor wire strung along the top too. Plus, the entire center fence with all the razor wire should be electrified with very high voltage. I mean, we're talking enough to fry anybody or anything that comes into contact with it. On the outer two fences signs should be posted every 20 feet or so warning people not to enter the area, and it could even use symbols to get the picture across for those who can't read.
Unfortunately, I don't think our government has the balls to do something like that!

Napolitano has also suggested that strict border monitoring isn't yet needed. So it truly could no longer be a wonder that she suggested “crossing the border illegally isn't against the law.” Napolitano is said section B, call 1325 of the U.S. Code that states in the different case. because the former governor of a border state with Mexico, she of anybody should be painfully attentive to the trials and tribulations Arizonans, Californians, New Mexicans and Texans have persisted. The Phoenix-metropolitan section is now the ranked because the worst and maximum likely position to be abducted interior u.s., and Napolitano isn’t rankled through this frightening piece of information? in the intervening time, as Napolitano is ineffective as fatherland safe practices chief, she is now attempting her hand as Secretary of well being and Human amenities talking out about the swine flu concern. possibly she will insult that away. She could no longer be holding both of those jobs.

Yes it's a waste of money. There are bigger things to waste money such as the Irak/Afghanistan war. I mean Mexicans will find a way to overcome any border trust me. If the U.S is Mexico's buddy then why would they enforce their border with Mexico and not with...IDK... Canada? I say that there should be a well planned-out immigration reform.

No. Absolutely not! However, after the money is spent, And the fence is built, send in the National guard, and Reservists to re-enforce the border patrol. It would not be a show of aggression, just merely ENFORCING the law.
If the law is not enforced, and the invaders are not stopped from flowing in, then presumably, we have wasted the money.

It is waste of money. There will always be illegals cause American business secretly wants them here. Republicans just want to take away attention from real problems like Iraq, the abandoned Katrina victims, crime, drugs, etc..

No, its just the first step. We really need to get serious about our border security and make some hard decisions. I don't know if our Congress has the stomach for it.

No. But I think it is only part of the solution.
The funny thing about border patrols is that when their boss doesn't want them to be effective, they aren't. Also, manpower is reduced simply by failure to fund in favor of pet projects. NOWHERE has our government earned our trust on enforcement of this issue - in any administration.

To finish a thousand mile trip you need to take the first step. all measures are welcome. I hope you are not so weak that you would not try everything possible to get these borders secure and kick out all illegals

Yes, a wast of money. What we need to get is fully automatic guns down there and man them in shifts. They will probably STOP coming across the boarder I bet!!!
