because of the fact Christ purely provides to return as quickly as - not two times. He got here to fulfill Scripture, die for our sins, and open the gates of Heaven to those that have faith. he will come back to choose the residing and the lifeless and instill his eternal Kingdom. Rapture could be a 2d Coming between the 1st and the final, and there is not any room in Scripture for it. additionally, Rapture theology demands the 2d Coming to be secret, whilst the prophecies with regards to Jesus' 2d Coming carry it to be particularly seen - that he will return in Glory. Rapture theology is likewise a somewhat new coaching. till the nineteenth century, no theologian tied the books of Daniel and Revelation to a similar activities. Daniel became interepreted to predict the autumn of the Persian Empire, Revelation the autumn of the Roman Empire. Then got here a former accomplice soldier via the call of Cyrus Scofield who began coaching that history is split into 7 dispensations, who tied the books of Daniel and Revelation mutually and became the coaching American-centric. i won't have faith that an eternal God might make an entire e book of His Divine be conscious beside the point for 3,500 years purely to all at as quickly as make sense to a collection of human beings residing in a land that Daniel had in no way heard of. temporarily, amillenialism - the concept that Christ will return purely on the tip of time, and that there is not any "get out of tribulation loose" card for being a Christian, is the concept that makes maximum sense in mild of Scripture and historic scholarship. It would not dispute Christ's 2d Coming, nor the conflict at Meggido (Armaggeddon), nor the reign of Peace to stay with. in spite of the undeniable fact that it would not help a secret Rapture.

Little late to believe that, since the Rapture occurred back in 1998.
Sorry.

No, the movies/books' scenario violates many scriptures.
2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar. Fire will destroy everything in them. God will judge the earth and everything in it. 11 So everything will be destroyed. And what kind of people should you be? You should lead holy and godly lives.
1Thes.5:1 Brothers and sisters, we don’t have to write to you about times and dates. 2 You know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 People will be saying that everything is peaceful and safe. Then suddenly they will be destroyed. It will happen like birth pains coming on a pregnant woman. None of the people will escape.

I was brought up in a christian home and I truely believe that is pretty much how its going to happen. Kirk Cameron is a christian and I don't think he would be involved in making that movie unless he truely believed that it's true. So I guess that there are a few of us that should be in a looney bin.

If the criteria are that of the movie... no way.
Why would God only leave the clothes anyway? Why not just take the souls and leave the bodies?

Why not, there are scriptures that imply this.

God's Gospel:
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
