The 'hijab' is a dress of modety, a sign of piety and protects women. When there is nothing you can see except the face or the eyes, it gives a message "judge me by my brain, not my body".
The eyes are alluring? YES they are. But Muslim men are commanded to do 'hijab' first by lowering their eyes.
Hope this helps.

That is so true! Women who cover up do appear more mysterious and intriguing. But not to all. Some are deterred by this look. The important thing is that she believes she is doing it for her sake and for Allah's sake.
I know women who feel more comfortable in public when they cover their face. However, when in the presence of only women they do show their face. So you know, if they feel more comfortable I guess that's great!
You should know that the Qur'an does not ask women to cover the face, just the hair, neck, chest and other provocative parts of a woman's body.

well i dont see every muslim woman covering herself that way. well actually Qu'ran and Allah and His messengers said -- be modest do and not display ur privates to one who is not meant for u.
and no where in Quran or no where prophet muhammed-pbuh has ever said that a woman should wear Hijab. just no where, but they both say that a woman should dress modestly so that her private parts and most of the body is covered. and there is nothing wrong in it, when a woman covers up her body.
some women cover fully while others dont wear Hijab at all. some do others just wear head scarves while others dont even wear a head scarf. a muslimah has right over it. no one has the right to tell what a muslimah should do. and let me tell u that the extent to which one covers herself also depends on the societies.
go to places like India and Africa where women cover themselves inspite of the fact they are not muslims. what will u say about that? it is about ethics and society not religion. in such places, people will not at any cost try singling out from the society. u cant blame religion, blame the society.

It could be more attractive... but at the same time, it gives you the message that it's "forbidden beauty".... Islamic attire is not about making a woman look like a black bag (that depends more on traditions and the area from which that women comes from), but it's about creating a clean society where men and women interact only 'legitimately'

To Western Women
By: Aisha
When you look at me
all you can see
Is the scarf that covers my hair?
My word you can't hear
Because you're too full of fear,
Mouth gaping, all you do is stare.
You think it's not my own choice,
In your own "liberation" you rejoice.
You're so thankful that you're not me.
You think I'm uneducated,
Trapped, oppressed and subjugated.
You're so thankful that you are free.
But Western women you've got it wrong-
You're the weak and I'm the strong,
For I've rejected the trap of man.
Fancy clothes - low neck, short skirt,
These are devices for pain and hurt,
Always jumping to the male agenda,
Competing on his terms.
No job share, no baby-sitting facilities,
No feeding and diaper-changing amenities.
No equal pay for equal skill-
Your job they can always fill.
Is this liberation?
A person with ideas and thought,
I'm not for sale, I can't be bought.
I won't decorate anyone's arm,
Nor be promoted for my charm.
There's more to me than playing coy.
Living life as a balancing game -
Mother, daughter, wife, nurse, cleaner, cook, lover -
And still bring home a wage.
Who thought up this modern
"freedom?"
Where man can love 'em and man can leave 'em.
This is not free but life in a cage.
Western women you can have your life.
Mine - it has less strife.
I cover and I get respected
Surely that's to be expected -
For I won't demean the feminine
I won't live to a male criterion.
I dance to my own tune,
And I hope you see this very soon,
For your own sake - wake up and use your sight!
Are you so sure that you are right?

Actually Muslim women's face is suppose to show, not just the eyes. The hair makes a woman look prettier and covering the hair makes her less attractive.

This is more of a cultural tradition than a religious one.
The Qur'an recommends a women show only her face and hands in public to strangers. At home, with her family - husband kids, father, mother, sister, brother + some members of the extended family, she does not have to be in this attire...

I think it would add to the mystery, but the Holy Qur'an lays down how women AND MEN should dress. It also, if I am remembering correctly, prescribes a penalty for impure thoughts about a woman not a wife.
As I said, I agree with what you said. I love women's eyes.

I believe muslims are asking for eternal trouble when they consider covering women up is compulsory. American male who saw female flaunting their flesh seldom go berzerk with the thought of sex because showing our flesh is too darn common. On the other hand, muslims too familiar with cloths as second skin will usually go ga-ga when they only take a look at the hand.
To cover up is the result of a very low intellectual capability. Intelligent people never resort to this.
