i'm normally a very happy person. but lately, for the past month or two, i've been really unhappy. i feel bored or discontented, and really, really anti-social, unenthusiastic, and hopeless. i began to have crying spells, and a few days ago i had two in public. then when people ask me about what's wrong, i somehow "fix" myself for that moment, and become perfectly fine again. later, the same thing happens again, and it seems to be getting worse.
this is very unlike me, but it hasn't been affecting my diet or sleep. what do you think?

Talk to your parents and consider seeing a doctor. This sounds like something that is really concerning you so it seems like you should see if there is something that can be done.

Everyone goes thru these phases when we really feel down and out of it. Its quite normal most of the time. It is depression only if you are having these hopeless feelings for 2 mts or more and you are unable to function(which you don't seem to have a problem with). Has anything happened to you in the near past that might have had a deeper impact on you than you realize? Consider your age also, if you ar in you teen years, it might just be hormones. I would say, find an activity that you used to enjoy and go back to it or be adventerous and try new things. Also, keep yourself occupied so that you are not thinking about this all the time.

Yes, you do have a problem. It sounds like depression, but it could be other things as well. You need to talk to your doctor. Tell him/her exactly what you are feeling. Don't feel ashamed, there are alot of us out there that feel these same feelings. It can be treated, either by medications or therapy, or sometimes a combination of both. You don't have to put a "happy" face on. Don't hide it. Do something about it. Get help and get on with your life. Good luck.

I think you are depressed because those are all the average signs of depression that you have described. I suggest you tell your doctor what is going on and see if there is a med that is right for you...(im on Effexer). I went through the same things and believe me, you don't need to live like that and you will feel so much better when you get help...hope this helped..take care.

Could be a lot of things. Hormones out of whack, possible pregnancy, stress...
Make an appt. with a doctor and consider counseling. The therapist should be able to advise you on what to do.

sounds like you should visit your family doctor. maybe its a phase so you could try counseling to see if you can find the source of the problem before going to drastic measures such as medication

maybe you are bi polar. my mom and sister are both bi polar, and before they took medication for it that is how they acted. and dont worry, if you do it can be treated you are not wierd or crazy in any way. many people have the condition. maybe you should go see a doctor.
