Why can they not be equally wrong? The only excuse Plato had (assuming he participated in that widley spread practice), is that it was not considered wrong by his culture.

Priests, because it was actually accepted in Plato's time and now it is taboo and wrong. Not saying it wasn't wrong then, but it was a socially acceptable habit. I mean, girls got married young then too, so....
