I'm a shy girl, and I like this boy that I've known since last year. We're both kind of geeky and share some unique interests like nature. The problem is, he's even shyer than I am! And he talks to me even less than he talks to my girlfriends.
One of his friends keeps teasing us about each other, but that may just be because we're partners in class. And when someone asked him who he liked, he just blushed and kept his mouth shut. He remained this way when asked if the girl was me. Hey, at least he didn't say no! But I think he's already aware that I'm hoping for a boyfriend. Does he like me but is just too shy to say it? Or is he just not interested?
I'm curious about how to know this without coming right out and declaring my feelings for him (I'm an old-fashioned kind of girl). I've already asked his friend, who isn't sure. Please help me with at least one of these questions; I'm lonely!

Do not consider yourself lonely. You already have a good relationship with him. Don't rush...just relax. After all...this is the most exciting time. You wouldn't want to scare him and make him worst. Be encouraging and supportive around him. Let him know that you are his pal no matter what.
You couldn't hope for a better position. Stay alert and let it come to you. Later, after you see his obvious affection, become a little More assertive. Say something like "I'm really glad we are friends. do you like me too"?
Then you're on your way. Take your time and enjoy first.
...and by the way...don't forget to make the class
lessons your main objective...even before him.

As a shy guy myself, I advise you to ask him out. Just for something nonromatic - trip to a bookstore or Starbucks. Or even with a group of friends on a hike. The point is to get into a nonthreatening position to open up communication. If you both enjoy nature, a hike would be perfect.

If he is shy, admitting it in an open forum is not going to happen. See if you can go out for a bite to eat or a movie without the benefit of a group trying to help....sometimes that is no help. Call him at home or slip him a note...good luck!

I agree with Narvaez A about hanging out and in time expressing your feelings, but wait until it is just the two of you. That way there is no outside interference and you can talk one to one.

He probably does like you! If you don't want to ask him out, tell his friend that you would def. say yes if he asked you on, say, a nature walk? If he knows without a doubt that you would say yes he is more likely to ask. Good luck!

Ask him a lot of questions about himself and his family and things he's interested in...that's always a good way to get a conversation going..............
