I applied for a credit card and was declined due to my poor credit. If I apply again, this time with a co-signer whose credit is really good, will they grant me a card?

They might, it depends on how good of credit the person has.
If you really want a credit card, then go to the bank and apply for one there. You should be able to get one, as long as you have a valid bank account at a bank. Good luck!

Bank One is a great place to get one!

Dude, if you find someone you know who is dumb enough to co-sign for you when, in fact, your past has clearly shown that you are uncreditworthy, then YES, apply again.

You should get the card since the co-signer agrees to pay your debt, in the event that you don't. And just remember, your late payments, should you have any, will also impair the co-signer's
FICO score, so please be careful and do not take this 'ish lightly.

Just don't abuse that person's trust in so doing.

It's the American way.

Good luck.

Its worth a shot. I would ask them that question before submitting the application to make sure its not a waste of time. But, I'm sure you'll find a credit card company will approve you with a co-applicant that has good credit.

I have always understood that when you use a co-signer they are using the co-signers credit because that is who they are going to go after if you don't pay your bill.

Sure they will grant you a card IF your co-signer agrees to pay your credit card bills. In other words, if you don't pay, your co-signer will have to pay.

It all depends on the policy of the bank issuing the card. The problem with credit cards is they are unsecured credit.

It's definitely worth a shot, but everytime you get declined, it lowers your credit score.
