The best way to tell if a guy is in a relationship for the right reasons - hold back sex. If he stays around even when he isn't getting any, he's in it for you.

Firstly, u'll have to reanalyze what has happen when u and him were dating (eg; does he comment about your dressing etc) does he only show interest in how u look all the time? or does he comment u on your personality more often than how u look?
Obviously when asked whether does he care or not, they'll usually say they don't when they really do..well, girls gotta think on the guys sides as well, what if he really did say he's going after you just for your looks? do you really think u'll still be with him for a long term relationship (i'm assuming you're looking for one since u're asking your poseted question)
Secondly, this may sound silly, but u can try by dressing up like a slob or overdressing on some occasion and try goin out with him and see what he says, but if both really love each other trust is the only way to find out.

If he enjoys your conversation, has a laugh at your jokes or comments on the fact that he does etc. Surely you can tell if he likes being with you and if the feeling is comfortable and easy when you are just hanging out together. Is he yawning and looking bored or elsewhere when you are talking?
There's nothing wrong with him liking the way you look also.

Come on. do you love some one for their looks? where is your self respect, wouldn't you like some one who respects you, is responsible, caring, has good morals, or are you just arm candy? How old are you that you have to have a shallow relationship, I can understand if you are under 13 not other wise

well umm..how do u catch someone's attention? by ur looks right? looks are hte first thing that catches someones eyes..i dont care waht anyone says..it culd be "ooh like that big mama she soo sexy " or "damn look at that petite princess" doesn't matter its the looks that catches someones eyes..now u find out if he wants u only for sex or looks or really likes u for u not ur looks..if u are hot then ya he probly does like you for ur looks..i would like ur llooks too..u cant' really tell..only time will tell..say u stop doing ur hair..stop dressing up..will he still like u?some guys do go out with girls just cus of their looks cus they know other guys want her. only time will tell..spending time with him adn later u will figure it out..he'll start to change..the way he treats u..but if he actually loves u for u then u will be happy.

Hold an intimate conversation with him... if he's truely interested in YOU then he'll be a great listener and be interested in what you have to say... if he's only interested in your looks then he's not going to care what you say.

A gut feeling usually tells you...But you are the one dating the guy--haven't you noticed his reaction towards you? Observe his mannerisms more carefully.
