I feel dumb even typing this, but Im like the only person who would probably feel like this. Last year when I was turning 19, I felt like I didnt want to because I was getting older. Now, Im about to turn 20 and I have that same feeling like ugh I'm getting older. I dont know if its fear of getting older, or im just really weird. 20 isnt old, but for some reason I cant really focus on how young it is. I dont know. Just thought id type this out. Anyone ever feel like this? Do I honeslty need punched in the face for even beginning to think 20 is somewhat old?

Im putting this in the health section because I dont know where else to put it.

i had the exact same feelings you do when i turned 20 earlier this year!THE SAME whether you believe it or not!! I know 20 is still pretty young but for me just like you, couldn't focus on how young i really am. Was so preoccupied with GETTING OLDER and on the fact that i'm no longer a teen!i think its like this...before i turned 18 i couldn't wait because 18 meant being a kid with more rights and freedom.i dreaded 19 coz it meant i wasn't the "fresh 18 year old" anymore. Then 20!whoa!it's just a year older then 19 only 2 years older than 18 but hey i'm going into a new period of my life, a new beginning! I was sooooo like you...asking questions people told me hey are you crazy?20 is old?wake up KID!! but now 2 months has past and i'm ok with it.after awhile you'll realize that being a YOUNG adult is way better than being an OLD teen. there's this liberating feeling!it's like this every decade i was told.30,40,50 or 60....once time past you'll not only accept it but feel great about it too.You are really as young as you think you are...i find the best way to get rid of "the old feeling even though you're still really young" is do more things to make your life an exciting one...you'll never think getting older is blah you'll think it's great!!!!!!!!!!

I know how you feel, and I've been there. But you know what every age has its perks. Take those perks and keep moving. Look, you're only as old as you think and feel you are. You're only 20 and have a whole world to discover- go out and enjoy being 20.

don't worry... this is actually quite normal. you're losing your childhood... it's time to mature up and fend for yourself to look into the future and get things together in your life.

time for career... time to get things straight.. time to plan way ahead for your retirment (really, it does take that long this day and age) time to get smart, serious about things...

while the rest are partying away their lives... time to crunch down and get started on the rest of your life.

:D

don't let it get you too down.. least you're thinking about things.. don't be like some who by the time they're 40 they haven't gotten anywhere in life, still moan about partying and getting high and having a good time.. acting like brats and complaining where their youth went...

while you'll be well engaged in life with hopefully a career a life and know where you'll be by the time you retire and what you'll be able to do.

and what you can do for your children if you have any.
that's another thing to think about.

but do try to relax, it's not all hard work all the time.. just because you're getting older don't mean you can relax and have fun.. just now you have to be smarter, quick to think too.. because there's no excuse to e silly and careless.

it's ok.

least it does sound like you're taking things into consideration instead for granted.

Are you saying that you acually ENJOYED your childhood? You lucky ****! I HATED growing up, and really, really appreciated from 20-25. But we are all different, I suppose. Childhood really isn't all that great. You are about to find out about this new twin concept, freedom and responsibility. Both are great. Have no fear, the best is about to begin!

People have all sorts of reactions. Perhaps you have seen all the responsibilities and problems of older people, and you fear getting into that "REAL WORLD."

Just remember, getting older isn't great, but it is better than the alternative. (death)

Take advantage of every moment and you should not feel any regret for another year. It is not your age, but how you use that age. Carpe Diem.
