Were made of Dirt.
Jesus added some Dirt and got his Eyes completey Created.

Maguyver7 is correct. He was showing that He is God by forming the man-born-blind's eyes from the dust of the earth. He was not just healing eyes that were not working properly - he was fashioning eyes where there were none.
