Booked Sheduled Airplane Air France Need Advice on Tickets Anyone Able to Advise?

Hi have booked two tickets with Network Airline (online) for scheduled Air France flight for two but other person may not be coming, of course I would reimburse his money for fare paid (he's agreeable to this) and have someone else who wants to come but HOW does this work?
With low costs air lines like easyjet, they're really nice about amending anything even mispelt names but spoke to Network airline and they say it would be classed as a cancellation and then you'd have to re-book? well all cancellations mean losing the origianal fee, so what does this mean, these two tickets cost over £1012.00 yes over 1K, so thats a lot of money, what can I do? any advise please anyone AIR FRANCE booked through NETWORK AIRLINE online. Its 4.10 in morning and I cannot sleep fo worry I saved for ages to be able to book this and now it seems like a mess. Hi Sam's Mom tickets are booked thro Airline Network and to St Maartins, Prince Juliana SXM (airport code) Fench West Indies and they were booked online and depature date 7th December I cannot afford to loose this money I mean really cant afford to lose this money this is like 2 years of savings and doing extra hours. I have insurance policy but cannot lie even if it means losing everything including the holiday.

Tickets are non-trasnferable and discount tickets are non-refundable. Especially if you went through a 3rd party website you have no out. That person is obligated to use that ticket or you will lose the cost of the fare. You have no out you have no recourse. That person flies or you lose the money. It is all outlined in the terms and conditions when you purchased the ticket. Fixing a name that is misspelled is easy, no problem. But you can not for any reason change the name. The ONLY out you would have would be IF you purchased directly with the airline. You could use the value of the ticket to purchase another one but you would be subject to paying change fee's and the difference of the available fare. When you talk International you are talking upward of several hundred $$$$.

So...your friend needs to go. Plain and simple...otherwise you will lose the fare, you will have to pay much much much more IF The website will do the change. Most discount travel sites are traps for uneducated travelers and you have no other choice but to either fly or lose your money. I hope your friend will just give you the money that you spent on the ticket. If there is someone else they are better off just buying a ticket out right instead of dealing with the change fee's

If you went through a 3rd party website or what is called a bulk consolidator, the airline will not touch that ticket. For one, that website blocks the fare break down so they can not see it to re-issue or exchange it. Secondly that is part of what they do, you buy a fare "Cheap" enough, you can ONLY deal with that website. It is ALWAYS recommended to book directly with the airline itself. If you have issues you can deal with them and not worry about 3rd party rules or travel agents who add their own fee's ontop of what the airline regulates. I still work in the travel industry and see so many people get burned using other avenues other than dealing directly with the airline.

This looks like two V class tickets. The cheapest Air France ticket London to SXM carries, according to my Sabre fare display, a £75 cancellation charge. Right, so you will have to accept that at best, this will cost £75 to change the name (because you will have to cancel the old booking and then rebook the new one). You will now need to get this done sooner rather than later in case all the V class seats get taken. You may have to pay an extra fee to the airline network. As I said, accept it and get the change done now. Airline network should, if they are decent types, at least let you offset the cost of one against the other but I have a horrible feeling that they are too impersonal to do this. Next time, use a travel agent. the fares are the same and it is much easier in cases like this to deal with a local person, face to face.

Hi, as a Travel Agent, I can advise you that IATA regulations permit a name change of up to 3 characters (due to mis-spelling etc) for no fee. However, if it is a complete name change and you want someone else to fly other than the original traveller, the reservation would have to be cancelled and a new one re-booked. Tickets that cost that much (dependant on where to of course) normally have a cancellation fee of around 50-100 pounds if completely unused and cancelled prior to departure. Only if it's a completely non-changeable and non-refundable ticket, as per the rules, would you lose everything. Where are you flying to? and what is the Fare basis on the ticket .. I will try and help if you provide this info ..

All depends on the type of ticket you have booked.
Sound like you have a non-changeable,non-reimbursable ticket.If that is the case then I am afraid they would treat a complete name change as a cancellation.This is not a case of misspelling.
I assume Network Airline is a travel agent.You could try calling Air France direct but I don't think you are going to have much joy.

Contact air france directly. Most of the big airlines will let you change the name on a ticket, but samller airlines won't.
It all depends on what ticket you have purchased and conditions that are included with that ticket.
