Oh, that depends on taste. Taste of the wearer of the beard and the taste of the onlooker.
Personally, I like the style of a beard and no moustache! There are many men, mostly young, but some, also middle-aged, that are sporting this look in the city I reside of about 1 million. [I am trying to get my husband to do the same thing (he's clean-shaven), but he is too traditional to try the "new look"] I think the style of beard worn or chosen says a lot about a man...ie: whether they are a "risk-taker" or a "fashionista"..or whatever!
In particular, the style of a very thin beard that outlines the cheekbones and chin bone of the face, as long as it is sculpted well, can be very sexy. Suits dark hair, brown or any color of facial hair, I say.
I think guys are lucky that they can try out different styles with facial hair. I realize it is a drag to have to shave every day to stay clean-shaven and "neat", but then, on the other hand they can try out new styles in beards, moustaches, sideburns etc.....just my thoughts!

Yes ? as for me, I like to have beard with no moustache. But i have some feedbacks from girls that I looked like a thief with a serious face, lol. Somehow I think girls like to touch my chin 'cos of having beard. Don't you think ?

They can, some don't. If they had one and all the sudden they shave everything off they will look really awkward for the first week or so.
Men definately look okay after they have had a beard that made them look like a scruffy Santa Clause, lol.

Some men do..it really depends on the facial structure. There are a few guys that I know of that have really small chins and they look so much better with beards.
There are some men that just dont suit facial hair.
Its 50/50 really.. all depends on the facial structure.
Personally I like facial hair, but as I said..some men just dont suit it.

To tell you the truth the only men that I've ever seen like that are Amish men so no I think it looks strange.

Normally this style denotes a religious fanatic or similar behavioural problems. ( Unless the person isn't yet fully mature, in which case it just denotes immaturity)
