Most asian guys are used to being around very quiet, almost like sleeping rocks type of asian women. African american women are more animated ( i mean this in a very good way) which makes some asian guys feel uncomfortable at times. I am asian, but i kinda grew up here in the U.S. and i used to date a black girl and man did she make me happy! =)

YOU approach them.
Make sure to ask them their name and ask them for basic biographical information. Make sure to radiate both confidence, playfulness, and a sense of humor.
And wearing the right clothes (miniskirt, V-neck blouse) certainly helps.

Not to be rascist, but I see that a ton of African American women are...
LOUD
OBNOXIOUS
RUDE
and generally unpleasant to be around.
Which is why Black Guys date white girls...
Of course not ALL black women are like that. I've met plenty of nice black girls. It's the loud mouthed Gangsta girls that ruin it for everyone.
OF COURSE the asian guy is going to be afraid of them! Some BLACK people are afraid of them!
