don;t use those words. Say "you're a great guy but this isn't working" And then set him up with a cute friend

First off - don't use the words "I don't like you." That would be mean. The fact that you are best friends with his sister (I assume?), can work for you. You can tell him that you don't want to jeopardize your friendship with his sister, and that dating him might do just that. You can tell him that you enjoy just having your friends and aren't really into dating just yet. If you recently ended a relationship - you can say that your still not over the other guy and don't feel ready to start anything new right now. You have options - take a pen and paper and write down different things you could say - then choose the best one. Try to think of it as if HE were saying it to you - how would it make you feel? If you don't think its too hurtful, then use it!!! I would also suggest speaking to your best friend about it too. If she truly is a best friend, she'll understand, and maybe HELP you!

Well, I don't know if you can without hurting him somewhat. Just tell him you like him as a friend and you would hang out but that there is something about yourself that would make you incompatible....in other words blame yourself for it not being able to work.

There is no way of doing it an it is not going to hurt. You best thing is to let him know you don't feel the same way. It will be a sting. It will hurt and go away and he can move on.

Either way he's going to be upset and hurt, be gentle and explain why (even if you need to sugar coat it) Tell him you want to remain great friends but you couldnt bare to stuff things up with your bestie.

There is no one recipe for telling someone your not in love them any more. All you can do is tell them in a respectful way and move on.

Just tell him that you don't like him like that and if you did, it wouldn't seem right given the situation
