Propane actually comes from the processing of crude oil when they make automobile gas. If you have ever seen an oil refinery? If you did, you saw pipes really high up that were burning. That is actually propane burning off. It is a liquid in its original state. Natural gas comes from under ground, it is not a liquid, but a clear, colorless, and odorless gas. When you smell natural gas in your house, that smell is added to the gas so you know when you have a leak, or a burner on the stove does not light up.
