If you mean on base? Generally they have to be stored in the base armory or pistol range. NO guns in the barracks. Now base housing or officers quarters are different. That more like a private home . So you can do as you choose. In Iraqi? There are a few guys who carry their own. The problem is comming back and dealing with the customs hassles. In general , I'd leave that stuff at home. The other reason is State laws in places like CA or NJ may restrict you gun of choice. So why put up with thqt hassle until you get to your perminent station. All bases have a policy about this. & you can ask the mp's what the deal is.

I answered this in another one of your questions, but the answer is NO.
You may absolutely not bring any personally owned weapons into theater. The regulations issued by CENTCOM are explicit on this. Neither may you bring out of theater any "war trophies" such as firearms, ammunition, explosives, or any parts or components of the aforementioned thereof.
Should you be caught with a personally owned weapon in theater, you're looking at Leavenworth. Should you be caught trying to sneak a personally owned weapon in and out of theater, you're looking at Leavenworth. If you really want to know what the Army's stand is on such matters and have no doubt in your mind whatsoever, join the Army.

why should you bring you're own weapons with you. Is there a new cut in the budget of the army that they couldn't afford handguns any more ?

You can own personal weapons in the military. However there are VERY strict guidelines. Check with the Provost Marshals Office on base.
Taking them to a war zone... NO!
You are also required to comply with all state and local laws regarding firearms.

NO! Why would you want to bring your own weapons anyway? The military pays you to use theirs anyway!

My boy God issued you a gun when you were born and you can bring that one with you but that is all.
The Army will issue you a weapon and will teach you the difference between a gun and a rifle. Your rifle is for killing. Your gun is for fun.

Don't listen to everyone else. Of course you can bring your own stuff. Also, when they pick you up, they like when you wear cameo's and whatever branch t-shirt of the military you are joining. Hope you're not joining the USA military.
