Okay, I started to like this girl a couple of months ago, who is also my best friend. Last night she left me an offline message on MSN, asking me to call her when I got home because she needed to talk to me about something. But later she left another one, saying never mind she's got it figured out. So today I asked her what was going on, but she didn't tell me what was going on. Later I was told that it's sort of related to homework, but I don't really believe that. Was she trying to hide something? If so, what? Was she trying to give off some clues that she also likes me that way? I've never catch her looking at my direction or anything like that. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

By the way she's one grade higher than me so I don't see the point of her asking me questions about her homework.

ok, i dont know what the 3rd degree is all about here, you're confused so is it wrong to think she might feel like you??
anyway, she might just have needed to talk about something personal, figure out homework or even have a heart-to-heart to figure out how she feels about you. if you try to give her little subtle signs that you like her more than a friend, and she shuts you down/ shows no interest.. let it go and push no more. if she gives you the green light to continue, go for it. good luck

No offense, but it seems like you're reading a little too much into it. Maybe it was just a question and she figured it out. Or maybe it's something she's not ready to tell you. Either way, you're probably best off just going to her and telling her the truth. If she's not a complete b****, she'll understand and feel the same way, or tell you that she just thinks of you as a friend. And then at least you'll know and be able to pick up the pieces and find someone new. Or you'll have a girl that you really like. It's better than just sitting on it.

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Honest is always the best policy - but perhaps in this case guarded honesty would work better - You could always talk to her and say that you feel a connection but it may just be because you are both such great friends, you don't know if you would be willing to give it a go at a relationship or not as you are wary as you don;t want to ruin the fantastic friendship.
Check her reaction....

No, I think she probably really needed help with homework and figured it out on her own. Don't read too much into it. We ladies give really obvious signs that we're interested. We'll start acting completely different around you than we usually would, or we'll flirt or ask a guy friend if he would like to go out...as more than just friends.

Well, you could just be letting your imagination run wild with this one. It sounds like she might have just needed help on some homework.

You are trying to find out too much from insignificant details. If she likes you, she will show it. Or you should hint to her how much you like her and see what happens.

it may be hard to tell if what she wanted was really hw related or something else, but whatever it was, i think you should come clean about your true feelings to her, maybe it turns out she wanted to do the same.
