I haven't met the dog that couldn't be house trained.
Routine is the key..
Feed 3 times per day at the same times daily..Put the bowl away after 10 minutes..
Take him outside after every feeding. He will go about 10-20 minutes after being fed, depending on his age. It will take awhile for him to learn/develop bladder control, but potty should be easier. Feed on a strict schedule, so that he isn't fed just before bedtime, as he will need to go shortly after being fed..Young pups should be fed and then walked 3 times per day, UNTIL THEY POOP...He will need more frequent outings for peeing...Walk him just before bedtime, to make certain he is empty..
Never scold for mistakes, but give lavish praise every time he goes outside, like he won the spelling bee.....Pups can only hold their pee for 1 hour, per month of age..So, its important to empty them just before bedtime..
Use the same word every time, such as 'do the doody', or whatever..
The most important thing is to watch him closely, and scoop him up and outside when he begins to act restless, turn circles, etc. soon he will whine and look at you when he needs to go.

usually you can crate train a puppy to house break it; but some people don't like this method cuz they don't want their pup in a crate all day. i used this method with all my dogs and never have an intentional accident to date. try to start this on a day that you'll be home; put the pup in the crate and as soon as you take it out first thing is take it outside to do its business after a few days they know that the only place to go to the bathroom is outside and when they are in the crate no animal will mess where they sleep

good luck I have never seen one that was completly house broken. I have one and he is now four years old and thought for the first year or so that he was broken but he is so not. He goes in the house all the time. my mother in law has a little girl shihtzu and she goes in and out all day long and still uses it in the house. My cousin had one and he would ocassionally use it in the house when they thought they had him trained. I dont know, sometimes I have thought that when mine gets mad he does this more often.

When I owned a puppy of this breed, he was never house broken. My family and I had attempted it but it failed. We kept our puppy in a tiled area with gates at the enterance of the hallway and doors to other rooms. We change the back yard door affixed with a dog door to which he would scratch upon and where we would then lift it. Apparrently, he did not adhere to it very well.

GOOOD LUCK! i have one. Skittles is 2 years old. We've tried everything. After we figured out we could not potty train her. We started using puppy pads. i know this is a bad idea but it was a last resort for us.She will use them. It's not as good as being house broken but at least she does'nt go all over the floor.
