I think that if a Muslim is sincere in their faith, they need to fast as the Qur'an, Hadith and other religious tradition dictate. I think it is a month that is not understood by the non-Muslim world. I am a Buddhist, but I think it is great. As my Muslim brothers and sisters say, Allah Hul Akbar.

It is a the time when the ArchAngel Gabriel-a.s, first visited the Prophet Muhammad-pbuh and taught him the 'Iqra Bismi' of the Qur'an and it was the month the entire Quran was complete. but fasting is just not about starving from dawn to dusk. it has a meaning.
it is a time to prepare urself to persevere and to control ur entire system -- body, mind and soul. Ramadhan is not just about fasting, its time for us to learn to keep ourselves in control. it is a time where one can learn to deal with the evil things and intentions and looking forward to being a better human being. it is a time to learn to forgive and ask for forgiveness.
Ramadhan is the time for people to better themselves in virtues of endurance, patience and forgiveness. thats what its all about. it is the time to learn to give. and Ramadhan is a time to -- make a better me.

Well, I respect Muslims for what they believe.. but really, religions and the rules they set are very much really man made and man dictated...
For instance, I don't believe God requires us to do anything, but a lot of religions think otherwise..

What do you think of these scriptures?
" I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me". -- Jesus Christ
" Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12)
"... you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he (Mesiah, Son of God) you shall die in your sins". - Jesus (Jn. 8:24)
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)
