My answer is a personal opinion. 1. You should know that you are not 21, and that you are legally not supposed to drink. While most people do drink before they are 21, you should have the knowledge and ability to be more responsible with that decision making process.
2. The person who bought it for you should be hanging out with people his/her own age. You said "cousin," and I say "ok." But if he/she is 21, and you are 15 - then there is a social gap of five years, and one HUGE legality issue you need to look at. First of all your a minor, second of all - your acting inappropriately as a minor. Thirdly, being drunk around people who are adults and being a minor, well that is a HUGE mistake for all parties involved.
3. Your Mom needs to accept some responsibility too. Why is she letting you hang out with adults? The cops were called on your cousin? It doesn't make much sense to me, unless you were filming an episode of C.O.P.S. - and then I would understand.
What I am getting at is - yes, the law was broken and everyone is now caught. Be smarter next time.
Also, tell Mom that maybe - just maybe - if she were in the picture a bit more, then you wouldn't be out drinking with adults, and she wouldn't have to involve the cops.
It's 3:00 am.... Do you know where your child is?

Ok first of all you obviously know its against the law for a minor to purchase alcohol. So you went to your uncle to purchase it for you. Like any normal teenager would do, go find someone to do it for them. Second you know its against the law to be under the influence of alcohol as a minor. You knew the consequenses and so did that uncle of yours. He took that chance, you got him into that bind. You should step up and take some responsibility for this as well. You should do some community service or some juvenille detention time, if he has to serve you should as well. Because he would not be in the situation he is if you did not ask him to do this for you. Yes your uncle can get a ticket or jail time for purchasing alcohol for a minor and distributing it to minors. Depending on if hes on probation or parole he could really get into trouble, if hes never been introuble with the law, he wont get as harsh of a sentence. If he has been introuble or is now then he will get a larger one. You should attend the court hearing and ask the judge if you may speak, appologise for what you did, admit you were in the wrong for asking and consuming. Tell the judge you think it would be unfair if your uncle took the whole blame, tell the judge that you think its fair that you do half of the sentence he gets, or ask to do community service. It will make you look good in court and will help your uncle out as well. Good luck, and next time don't ask friends or family to do illegal acts for you. Nevermind DONT let there be a next time, 21 will be there soon. Trust me, I will be 24 in 2 weeks. I remember being 15 and doing what you did, have fun without drugs/alcohol. I wish I would have. It may look or seem cool now, but later you will regret it. From one girl to another!

What a wonderful family you have. I feel sorry for you - your mom called the cops on her own Nephew? Unbelievable. I'm sure your cousin and Aunts and Uncles will really be getting along with your family now.
1) You knew what you were doing was illegal, you shouldn't have dropped his name and told on him.
2) Your cousin made a poor decision, he shouldn't have purchased alcohol for you. He also should have supervised you to ensure you didn't get into trouble, which he failed to do.
I hope this doesn't cause too much problems with your family. If my aunt had called the cops on me - I'd have disowned them. We just don't do that to family. Hopefully you can move out of the house - the sooner the better, maybe move in with your cousin??
Good Luck.

The Person buying the alcohol is in trouble if they are over 18 years of age or whatever the legal age is in your country. You may have got cautioned and then again your parents may be in trouble if they had knowledge of this alcohol. Well if your mum called the cops then you and the person buying the alcohol maybe in trouble.

first of all you shouldn't have gotten caught and how did she find out? if you ratted thats messed up.
and who calls the cops on their nephew.
legally he is at fault but u should still be in trouble just not with the law
the law is that under 21 u can't be served or purchase alcohol but the person that gets in trouble is the server or the seller.

The one who bought the alcohol and gave it to the 15 year old should be in trouble with the law. The 15 year old should be in trouble with his/her parents.

The buyer gets in trouble. The minor sometimes will too, depends on the situation. The minor usually gets something like a citation, nothing huge. That's how it is around here anyway.

The person providing the alchoholic beverages most definately should get into trouble, and the person drinking should get into trouble as well. If not the authorities, then by the parents or guardians. Irresponsibility.

You are correct you both should have been in trouble. Your cousin should have known better than to contribute to the delinquency of a minor. You should have been punished for drinking. You knew it was wrong or why would you have to sneak around to drink. Not angry just disappointed.

Everyone is responsible..Your cousin for buying and giving it to you, You, for asking for it, accepting it and drinking it, and Your parents for not teaching you that you don't need to practice consumption of alcohol at an illegal age regardless of peer pressure or any other excuse. You must be accountable for what you caused. When you are of legal age to drink, remember YOUR responsibilities and when you make an error ..Accept accountability
