here's my opinion
a pastor's job is to take care of a pastorate...that is, a certain number of people who attend his church.
By nature, a woman is a nurturer and that can be a good characteristic for a pastor HOWEVER, women by nature are personal nurturers... that is, they develope very close, intense relationships with their families, children, close friends. They are PERSONAL and they are DEEP. It would, in my opinion, be very difficult for a woman to have a pastorate and have a family and friends to deal with.
A man, on the other hand, is a person of broader perspective. (don't misunderstand, I'm not saying that any woman can't be this - I'm just saying that women in general are not like this)
A man can handle a broad base of relationships that are more surface - just enough info to be caring, concerned and loving.
A true pastor with a pastor's heart is one who recognizes that each individual has a story and that each ones life at the moment is important. He can deal with each person on an individual level and with just enough of a personal touch.... but not enough to become overly attached.
I could be wrong - I'm not a phycologist, but I do think that over the next 20 years, statistics will show that there are many many women pastors who either have left their profession or are in depression or other serious emotional trouble.

Gender should not be considered when teaching the word of God.

We have had a female pastor in our church and she was one of our best.

Should they? Why not. But I wouldn't prefer a female pastor. But if she gets a following, whatever.

Yes! i know somewhere in the Bible it says something to the effect that they shouldn't but remember, when the Bible was written women were not educated or thought to be equal to men. Things have changed since then.

Of course. Women can handle the job as well as any man.

Why not? Women can be just as spiritual and intelligent and kind and generous as any man. I don't see a problem with it.

If she wants to be, then she should. If she doesn't, then you shouldn't force her into it.
