Although it is skinless, there is a thin man-made layer to hold it all together. It is transluscent. If you make a pierce at the end and pull gently you will be able to pull the thin layer, but because it is delicate it would be unlikely to pull a large piece off, rather smaller pieces will come off and it will take a lot of time to accomplish the entire hot dog.
