I met Senator Glen McConnell years ago and I'm proud to see that this is something he is pushing for in South Carolina.
I was also pleased to see that South Carolina has made it a felony to use someone Else's ID....now, they don't have to say it's a federal crime to be enforced by the Feds....they can enforce it by state law.
Unlike Utah, who has the weasly Mark Shurtleff as our Attorney General....and who refuses to enforce any Federal laws which apply to illegals...the man has no shame...
Excellent post!

Employers who are caught have to be hit so hard that it really, really hurts! They have to receive the maximum penalties! After a few of these hit the news, even to the point where it puts employers in jail for long periods of time and where the financial penalties are so severe that some businesses go under - then there will be employers who will finally get the message and do everything they can to ensure that their employees are legal citizens or legal immigrants.

There is legislation to help. The problem is the "go after the employers" idea is not sound. Most illegal aliens "buy" ID. Some of it is 100% fake with the ss# not matching the name. Other times they buy this stuff from unemployed legal residents. It's more complex then "blame the employer".

Why would the illegals come here if they could not get a job. I say treat the people who knowingly hire illegal aliens as dope dealers, the opportunities would dry up overnight.
Why blame the situation on some guy who wants to feed her family.

Bit wrong folks, employers aren't required to ask for ID, the INS comes, picks up some employees. the boss will get more like them as soon as he can.

All contractor bidding on government jobs should be required to hire only legal citizens to bid on work projects. Enough said..

It's hard to blame people for wanting a better life, but the employers just want cheep labor, no employment no more problem.

it's time to stop and look at what is really happening. maybe an investment in Mexico would pay off. we need to send our work to Mexico and not china. this might keep people in their own country. and in turn some American company's would make more money.
