Has anyone bought this particular JVC model? or any other JVC TV? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

From my experience with electronics I can tell you this Plasma TV is good. Not great. I think Sony and LG top the ratings for Plasmas.
It's important to note that this is HDTV. anything less than HD quality media displayed on it will look crappy. I recently noticed Best Buy selling HD DVD players and movies now. Some Satellite and cable companies offer HD programming too. anything less than HD on this would be like trying to race a Lamborghini using diesel fuel. I don't think there is enough HD format on the market to warrant buying HD just yet. The technology in Plasma screens is still fairly new. Although in resent years the life span of a plasma screen has greatly improved, I think picture quality and power consumption will get much better in the next 3 to 5 years.
If you can afford to buy it, and think you'll need it right away for the next NFL season, go for it. If you can wait a few more years I think you'll find better deals and better screen choices.
