"And in case a bull should gore a man or a woman and that one actually dies, the bull is to be stoned without fail, but its flesh is not to be eaten; and the owner of the bull is free from punishment. But if a bull was formerly in the habit of goring and warning was served on its owner but he would not keep it under guard, and it did put a man or a woman to death, the bull is to be stoned and also its owner is to be put to death. If a ransom should be imposed upon him, then he must give the redemption price for his soul according to all that may be imposed upon him. Whether it gored a son or gored a daughter, it is to be done to him according to this judicial decision. If it was a slave man or a slave girl that the bull gored, he will give the price of thirty shekels to that one’s master, and the bull will be stoned. " (Exodus 21:28-32)

Adjusted for 2000 years of inflation, and allowing for the depreciation of the sheckle, I would say $2.95, in gods money.
God does not value people too highly, or he would not have created billions, knowing the great majority will be tortured in hell forever and ever.
On the other hand, it does say that not even a tiny sparrow falls that he does not notice. So maybe god is a cat, after all.
If this is true, as the Egyptians thought, then
Go price mice at the pet store, we should fall in about that category, in cosmic terms.

Satan owned us, and Jesus set us free with the price of His blood. His blood is worth more than the price to set every person who ever lived free, if they so choose. I don't recall the verse, but it's in there, many times. It's not the case that every person has a different value, however. We are all sinful.

Well..
In a way you're right and in a way you're wrong. God is a perfect God, He can't stand sin (our shortfallings and the wrong things we do). The penalty which God set for sin is eternal seperation from Him (death). So in a way you could say that God said we have to pay a price for our actions, which is DEATH. However, God had mercy on us, and sent Jesus to die to pay that price by conquering death once and for all when He died on the cross and rose again.
Now you're wrong in implying that we have to pay it!! Christ paid the price for us. Now all we have to do is acknowledge that we are sinners, repent and ask God to forgive us. Then turn from our sins and follow God. Above all we must trust God and believe that the only way to heaven is throught the death and resurection of Jesus Christ!!

Good rumor. Like most rumors there is some truth.
The price on our heads was so expensive that nobody could pay it for each person except one person and that was the Son of God Himself.
God's Gospel:
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

The Bible says we are more valuable than all the gold and silver and more important to God than all the stars in the sky.
Do we have a price? Yes. We are so valuable, Jesus Christ gave his own, perfect life. That's pretty dang valuable!

I think that that is JUST a rumor. I have never heard of that before. Unless they were talking about Jesus paying the price for our sin.---But really the word is sacrifice. I have never encountered anything like that in my study.

Are you serious? Do you also believe that your sins are forgiven if you donate to the church, or pay for confessions? I think God is a little more spiritual- and a little more open to people having the freedom of choice without fear of eternal damnation.
