Lancelot6 doesn't know what he's talking about!! Can a convicted felon eat a steak in a restaurant ? Not if he has to use a steak knife "DUUUUHH 'cause that's a weapon and he aint allowed to have no weapons". Convicted felons are not allowed to purchase, possess or use FIREARMS for any reason including hunting. Yes the can use a bow.

Yes.

If that felon were to go into the French Foreign Legion, he could get a whole new identiry and a French citizenship, and start life over again.

I suppose he'd have to wait until granted leave to go hunting. But hey, c'est la vie.

I think an arrow with a hunting point on it would be considered a deadly weapon and I would not chance Smokey the Bear checking your wants and warrants in the forest!

Call the parole agent and ask him!

By LAW, a felon can not handle any weapon.

Yes, in my state. It cannot be a cross bow because no one can use a cross bow unless handicapped. If handicapped you must apply for a special permit to use the cross bow.
