I tested it out. I downloaded it from Microsoft's website.
I believe most of the changes are cosmetic. It's full of eye candy and not much of a functional improvement over Windows XP.
Some of the visual changes are difficult to get used to.

I have it. It is very nice. It is user friendly and the best thing I like is this personal window that comes up at startup and updates you on your PC. From device manager and how each device is doing, to driver updates to computer name to colors. It is crazy! However, I am not sure about how it works with other computers. XP sucks at networking and I am not sure if they fixed that.
