Because you're looking in the wrong place! In my church, we do have senior citizens, but they are by no means the majority. I guess if you only looked in the rear center section, however, you might think so. They enjoy sitting with their friends, of course. If you looked at the far-west section, you'd see young parents with families. The youth like to sit off to the east side of the front, together with all their friends. If anyone walked in the door on that side of the church, they'd think they'd stepped into a teenagers' church.
Some churches naturally attract older folks because of the style of music and worship. If you prefer a church with more young people in it, ask around at school or at work. I'm sure someone there probably goes to a church that has a good youth group and therefore a lot of youth in the service.

because these are the end times when children disobey their parents. It is too bad the parents they are disobeying also disobeyed their parents. It is not new that there is few young people in the Churches. The only thing we can hope for is the truth of the proverb "Bring up a child in how they should be and when they are old they will go back to it." Not all are lost though. Pope John Paul II had great crowds of youth at his rallies and so did Pope Benedict the xvl.

The younger generation has found other ways to be closer to God. Some feel closer when they are outside in nature, then sitting in church listening to some guy tell them how bad a person they are. There are other ways of worshiping God than going to church. Some places now meet for bible studies during the week instead of going to church on Sunday. The way the world is now, Sunday is the only day off of work they get, so they would rather spend time with their family instead of sitting in a building for 1/2 a day.
That, and the fact that it's the only time during the week the grey haired get out of their house.

Because the gray haired crowd forgot to pass it on. Today the young have to many things to do. They never was taough what was right and wrong. Most church today have gone to rock music to bring the young into the church. Satan is the God of this world. He has made the church part of the world. 2 Corinthians 4: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Because unfortunately for our generation I guess it's not "cool" to go to church. It may be that you are going to a church that's not meant for you either. Mine is a mixed crowd. It's a lot better when you go to a church that "reaches" you on a spiritual level. The younger groups these days really need someone to lead them. That's probably why you don't see many involved or attending your church.

Must be you attend a dying church. Look around, there are many that attract the younger set.
Maybe the gray-haired saints didn't teach the next generation respect for their faith...

Because youth is wasted on the young. Maturity and experience help one to know (usually) that there has to be more than just this life.
Also secular society is dragging down most of the youth in the things that will not last, namely, wealth, fame, power, and success.

They have lived long enough to realize that God is the Way, the Truth and the Light. They want a relationship with Him before they pass on. They probably have tried everything else.

There are lots of Churches that cater to youth, you need to look around. The youth Churches, often don't have lots of money, so hold services in unconventional places like school classrooms, movie theaters, and apartment complex welcome centers. Good Luck finding the group of your choice in your area.
