Panacea,

I certainly understand where you are coming from. But I need the weatherproofing that the D200 offers.

Thanks.

I know NOTHING about this company, but Comcast says that they have the current best price of $1,197.00.

http://www.pricegrabber.com/ says the best price is $1,419.00 at http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?dp=12E222520222E6925253A3D363D3B357E37363734303B313&stk_code=nikd200&svbname=30&CA=Y

Here's a good price on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Nikon-D200_W0QQitemZ170034699862QQihZ007QQcategoryZ43456QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and there are several others with a Buy-It-Now price in the $1,300-1,400 range.

And you will LOVE the D200. :-)

Are you sure you want the D200? The new D80 is almost as good and lots cheaper. Also the D200 is not a camera for beginners. No automatic or scene modes. That might not sit too well with most consumers or even prosumers. Very few people will get more out of the D200 than the D80 other than a faster burst rate. Quite frankly, that money is better spent on a decent lens or two.
