Um... one is a science the other is not (and that's just a basic difference -- there are MANY MORE differences...in fact, these two things are NOTHING alike except that there are heavenly bodies involved). It's not a question of which is "better."

Better for what? Astrologists were the first to study the stars. They were revered as spiritual leaders in their communities. They "predicted" the future according to the positions of the stars in the heavens and were consulted by farmers, kings, and others wishing to know upcoming events. Babylonians, Egyptians, and other cultures did not differentiate between astrology and astronomy. Many scientists broke off from this group in the 18th century and developed Astronomy...studying the movements of the stars, planets, etc. without mixing spiritism or religion into their studies. Today, there is a distinct difference between the two, with astrologers mostly being considered "soothsayers" or those who can tell you about your life just by looking at the position of the stars and planets on the day you were born. Astronomers study the heavens and do things like eliminate Pluto from the planetary society and tell you the projected pathway of asteroids and stuff like that!

Well, becoming a professional astrologer requires alot less schooling and it does provide a handy way to bilk gullible people out of money. On the other hand, if you become an astronomer people think you're smart, you don't have to lie to people, and people actually respect you.

it depends on how you feel about these subjects..
astrology is more like beliefs, horoscopes..
and astronomy is science.. more about specific celestal objects in space... personally like astronomy better, i think it is more factual and practical... if it is about choosing a career, it is really upto you to decide which is better =)

It is concerned with the evolution, physics, chemistry, and motion of celestial objects, as well as the formation and development of the universe.

Depends upon what you're looking for.
If you want to be grounded in reality and not make much money, astronomy.
If you have problems with reality and want to make some money, astrology
