I was thinking of dancing as a weight loss option. Like dancing to a whole CD (about an hour) each day at my lunch period, and record my results every week (waist, legs, arms, etc.) What do you think of my plan, and would you use it to help you? Please give a full answer.

I have used it, just answered another question recommending dancing, any movement will burn more calories and should result in a weight loss. Without changing your eating habits it may take 4 to 6 weeks to see any changes in your measurements but only a couple of weeks to feel your mood, and stamina improve. Hint, if you don't have an hour at a time, 2 half hours will work to. "Groove it,and lose it"

As long as you take in less calories than you burn, you WILL lose weight! Cut your calories, exercise daily (hard enough to break a sweat) and drink plenty of water!

Yes, dance sounds like a good option because it's fun and you're more likely to do it regularly. Going by how many inches you lose and not by what the scale says is good, too, because if you build muscle then you might lose fat but not show any change on what your "weight" is. However, you WILL look better because you'll be fit and firm instead of fat and flabby.

Good luck to you!

It sounds like an awesome and fun way to lose weight. Isn't there a video game out there that also runs in the same way? Dance Revolution or something like that? They say alot of people have lost weight using it.

I think it works because you're doing something you enjoy and won't get bored and skip workouts.

I would try it if I had the guts to. :)

sounds like a plan!!!! when I was single i went clubbing on a regular basis. I was in good shape and perhaps the best shape ever. It is a good idea and you will lose weight . make sure you can handle every day dancing.

give you're body time to re-coupe is you push you're self to you're limits. Drink plenty of watter so you don't dehydrate. you have to change you're diet too. if you really want this to be effective. eat about 5 to 6 small meals a day to boost you're metabolism. and cut back on sugars and junk food.

increase youre protein intake and you should be good to go .

Sounds like a great way to lose weight - you should remember that you will actually start building muscle - and it actually weighs more than fat - so don't be surprised if your weight loss plateaus or you even start gaining some weight.

I think that it sounds like a great idea. If you enjoy something you certainly will stay at it. I used to dance about nine hours a week and then moved across country and quit and in about 90 days gained 20 pounds without changing diet (of course I was getting old too).

Good Luck

i personally don't think eating "breakfast" is important for weight loss. Eating a piece of fruit or a small salad could be a breakfast, or even drinking water with a banana. in my opinion, weight loss is about eating the right whole foods coupled with a decent amount of physical activitiy such as walking or something more strenuous.

it depends on what kind of dancing you do.

like i'm a dancer and dancing is by far a great way to stay in shape

but you need to do a fast paced routine

YOU MUST STRETCH BEFORE AND AFTER YOU WORK OUT
it is one of the most dangerous things to start dancing without stretching and if you want to maintain everything you did, stretch before you leave to keep it there. i thikn the best bet would be to do soemthing like quick-paced DDR or learn some of the dances from music videos and do them

Dancing is a great way to lose weight and get in shape. I use to do it, only I went to the club to dance. Good luck and keep on dancing!
