As a Catholic, I used to fast. I usually tried to fast all day but mostly made it until about 3pm which is when I broke down and had a snack.

I try to fast during the Easter season-- Simply a water/juice fast from Good Friday service until Easter Sunday morning service.
Doing a dry fast with no preparation can be dangerous (especially if you work with your body during the day).
The important part of fasting for religious purposes is to remember why you yourself are fasting. For some people fasting is useful to clear their mind of everything but God, for others, fasting brings their body into the forefront (which can be useful in remembering that our body was created by God and has physical needs, etc.)
Cutting out certain foods during Lent is a fast. Eastern Orthodox traditions basically go vegan during that time -- relying on vegetable proteins instead of meat, eggs, or cheese. Non-Eastern Orthodox teenagers often give up chocolate, soda, or pizza for Lent.

in my church we fast once a month for two to three meals we begin with a prayer, skip the specific meals, break the fast with a prayer, and donate the money we would have spent on the meals to a fund for those in need. we determine the amount of money by the price of a meal at an expensive restauraunt. I have also fasted for three months but not food, I fasted something that would be a sacrifice for me personally. I fasted from reading anything but scriptures to get an answer for a personal problem.

Yes I do.
I fast for a week at a time. I do this approximately every 2 months. It gets pretty easy after the first couple of times. It makes you feel great.
I checked with my Doctor before I went over 3 days and he said that it shouldn't cause any trouble and it hasn't. Try It.
Love and blessings Don

I have never fasted. Maybe I should, but I just haven't reached the point when God has instructed me to.
My mom is a very faithful woman with fifty years of relationship in Jesus. She will fast for several days and go into deep prayer.
It all depends on the relationship with Jesus.

I constantly fluctuate from emaciation to near normal levels of weight. I fast for as long as I can until I'm about to die, then I get so hungry that I eat enough to get my weight back to normal. Sometimes I fast for two weeks at a time. This is how I show God that I love him.

I fast during Lent from the time I wake up until 12 noon. On Fridays during Lent, I do the same but I do not consume meat.

Jesus also warned against fasting to gain favor from men. He warned his followers that they should fast in private, not letting others know they were fasting (Matthew 6:16–18).

Christians do not have guidance on such issues so they have to make it up, and fast to a time they feel is correct. This problem arises because they refuse to follow Gods final messenger

I have fasted for 3 days without eating anything, just drinking liquids. OK, and I did not make any kind of smoothy either
