I was with my girlfriend, and while making out, my pocket knife fell out of my pocket on to the bed. She got PISSED!!! She started yelling "Whats that for, what are you some kind of hood rat, are you gonna kill someone with that thing, do you sell drugs, etc". I am not a some street punk, I am a semester away from earning B.D. in civil engineering. Why is this such a big deal?????

You're an engineering major and you were carrying around a pocket knife? Seriously, get a Vic or a Leatherman. Much more useful in class.
When I hear "pocket knife" I think 2-3 inch blade. No offense, but unless you dress like a bum, or are a minority, I have no idea why she would even use the term "hood rat".
If I had a pocket knife fall out of my pocket they'd probably wonder why I bothered having one, given what I keep strapped to my belt. (But I don't dress like a bum and I'm not a minority, so I suppose I'm an unlikely candidate for "hood rat.")

Maybe your girlfriend is crazy that would be no reason for her to get so upset but if you plan to be with her maybe you should sit her down and talk to her about why your pocket knife is such a problem for her maybe she has a good explanation.

Uh no its a guy thing knives and all I can see her point theres a time and a place for everything but you cant help that it fell out when it did. My husband carries one all the time if he's dressed he's got one on him but that doesnt make him gangster or a hood rat. But to answer your question no I wouldn't!

Tell her to chill. Every man I know carries a knife of some kind. There are also alot of women who carry a knife of some sort. Its a universal tool that can come in very handy at times.

My husband carries a pocket knife all the time. Perhaps if she had know you carried one for utility use or whatever (like my husband does) than she wouldn't be so upset. Now,,,,a gun....different story

if she is your girl friend she should know you by now. sounds like she the queen of drama.
just because you are semester away from your BD in enginering does mean that you could not be a hood etc.
look at OJ simpon. he had money, fame and a family.... wait he still has all of those things even after he mudered his wife. he still has his family and kids..

it would be kind of creepy to see a knife fall out of your pocket while making out i'd think. she seems to have overreatcted a little bit though. why do you carry a knife with you anyways?
