My wife is spending thousands of dollars on re-doing our toddlers room and getting new stuff for the new baby.. Cuz she’s pregnant. I think she should spend the money on beer for me. Which do u think is more important? I think my beer and she says that its her money anyways so she can spend it on whatever she wants too, cuz I don’t work… but she’s a plastic surgeon so why should I work.. She makes a lot of money. shes at like 5,oo dollars right now. thats a lot of beer i could have.What do u think should happen here?

While I understand the enjoyment of beer every now and again, and I understand the excitement your wife is experiencing right now I am torn both ways. Now let me explain. . .
No I don't think your wife should be spending thousands of dollars on re-doing a room and getting new stuff for the new baby. *Yes I know it's her money, and I don't know all the facts, I'm basing my answer on what you wrote.* I do think she should be willing to buy you some beer. I say this only because it is cheaper for you to drink at home, and safer as you aren't on the roads intoxicated. So what to do?
My answer is to compromise. You help and do as much for the new room as possible - build your baby's crib/cradle. Fix up the toddlers dresser buy resanding and painting it, even getting new nobs for it etc. Do what you can to show your excitement and involvement with the new baby. She can reward you with beer. Save as much money as possible and use it towards a family vacation, a day trip to the spa for mommy, a nice date and sitter for the toddler, college funds etc.
Really it doesn't matter how much she makes or isn't making, it isn't a matter of who's money it is or isn't (as it's the family's money). I think maybe she's just extra excited. You can help to curb the spending factor by reciprocating her excitement. No you shouldn't be getting drunk every night, or drinking every night for that matter - look at the example that would set for your child(ren). Maybe if you were able to get a job also she wouldn't be so negative about you getting beer.

Seriously doubt a plastic surgeon with all her brillance would take up the likes of a beer drinking free loader.... growup??

What I Think should happen here ! I Think you're crazy and probably junk at the moment. She's right it's her money and she can do what ever she want......put it to use on the most important thing, YOUR CHILD. Quit drinking , you are a father grow up ! life is too short , spend it on the most important thing FAMILY.

I think that you are probably drunk right now if you have to ask that question. And I really hope that you arent going to be the one at home taking care of the baby with your drinking habits like that. She is excited about the baby, and it is her money anyway, she is the one working for it. The baby is more important!

umm .. i think her kids are way more important.. forget your damn beer... my husband works his *** of everyday and i make sure my kids are taken care of before i would let him buy beer.. so u need to get off your *** and do suttin to get your own money for beer... dont u give a damn about your kids??! even if she makes a million dollars a day u should still get up and get a job.. that could b extra money.. u should just b lucky she keeps ya cuz if u were my husband ur *** would be booted out...
