just about everyone will see your fico and judge your credit on that.

Fair Isaac (FICO) is still the defacto standard, even though there are 3 credit agencies.

Equifax is just one of the 3 major credit agencies.

It depends on what part of the country you live in. Here (Ohio) we have CSC Credit, it's a subsidiary of Equifax. If we write to Equifax we receive a letter back giving us the address to CSC. Also, on Equifax's website, once I put my address in I'm directed to CSC's site.

i don't know that 80% is an official number, but a greater number of lenders do in fact look at those reports.
