I'm so sorry for your loss!
There's no getting over a loved one's death, even when that loved one is an animal. You will always feel the loss, but it will lessen over time. Just let yourself grieve and cry all you want now. Eventually you will get to a place where you can also remember the good times you had with your dog.
I wish I knew what else to say to help you. I do know what you're going through, and I send you my deepest sympathies wherever you are. {{hugs}}

I know you feel very bad about the death of your dog. This was very tragic and on top of everything else you were away when this happen. We just lost a dog in Aug. I have come to appreciate the friendship and love of a dog. They become one of the family. When she had her stoke I didn't realize how sick she was. She would wag her tail every time I walked by her. The vet put her down four day's later. After feeling helpless and a great loss I allowed my self to grieve. I looked back at all the wonderful things she did and was grateful for the time I had with her. Yes she is greatly missed. But I feel such creatures like this has a place in heaven. I know it sounds strange, that's how I got through.

You can take the little creeps to court. Maybe you can get your grandma or some adult at school to help you with this. Didn't your Dad try to take Trixie to a vet?
Don't let those boys get away with it. Call your city's Animal Control--tell them those dogs were loose and vicious.
Some people are very stupid or sick when it comes to containing their aggressive dogs. I'm so sorry you lost Trixie. It's a terrible terrible thing. I lost my dog Gussie one year ago and I still think about him everyday.

Bad news. You never really get over these losses. They change you and now you're a different person from now on. Just learn to live with it and go on.
I lost my poor dog, in 1968, I looked for him day after day. Finally came across what was left of him. Pack of coyotes got him. My wife still grieves for her dog died of a heart attack 6 yrs ago.
Neal Boortz had a good story. About a place in Heaven where there's a large field with a bunch of dogs playing. Every now and then one of the dogs will stop playing and go wait at the edge of the field for their owner to arrive. Nice story to think that your beloved pets may be waiting for you in the next life.
Live on.

Talk to your local animal police, that's unethical. I've seen stuff like this happen on "Animal Cops" on Animal Planet, and they dont take it lightly. You can sue these boys for basically killing your dog. And for you emotionally, I know it hurts, and it will take a while to get used to her being gone, but just know that she's out of her pain and misery now. Eventually you can move on and get a new puppy. It might not replace the one you had, but it's the next best thing. It's that unconditional love that always gets you! :] Good luck.

My dog died in 1994 and my other dog died in 2003, and it still hurts...
Contacting an animal protection group about what happened might help you feel (a little) better
Unfortunately, dealing with loss is something we must all do.

We lost our dog a few days ago and it hurts. I am so sorry for your loss but you need to report it to a higher authority like the police or a Justice of the Peace. Hope all goes well.

Unfortunately where pets are concerned there's not much that can legally be done in that type of situation unless you can prove guilt, in which case it'd be animal cruelty. I'm very sorry for your loss. Try to remember how happy Trixie made you. She's not in pain anymore, that alone I think would be comforting.

Any attack on your dog was a crime, so go to the police. Animal control will take care of your case, and if there was cruel intent, they will get those people.
My dogs are members of my family, so I would not let them go without making some noise!

call the aspca and you can sooo get them arrested for animal abuse!! and in the meantime you might want to think about adopting a puppy from the pound. sometimes it makes you feel better when you do this because you think well you just lost your dog but you just saved another dogs life.
