You are right. The Bible teaches modesty in dress, word, action, attitude and deed. We have allowed too much of non-Christian culture pollute the life that we Christians are called to life, one of righteousness and holiness before God.

I think about that alot.
sadly women these days need more inside counseling about whats is appropriate for Church. V necks for one are not (unless it comes with an under shirt).Anything above the knee is not, doesn't matter how good you look in it, NO! The midriff and back riff should never show when you move. That's why I allocate women wearing jackets/blazers over there tops or long under shirts that go below the "end-line" of their tops.
but I believe its and issue with the teenagers, and believe it or not,
you had an oops too, so don't go nuts. =D
I dont wear that stuff, really, because I was brought up differently, I was an only child raised by parents who might have well been my grand parents. I pretty much dressed like an old lady to church ( and everywhere else) until I went to college and realized what teen fashion is. It's not oversize sweaters with fruits on them that's for sure, or dresses down to the floor!
you know society puts more emphasis on looking cute than anything. It upsets me when women think looking cute means showing skin. Its actually disgusts me. I mean I'm not against a deep V neck or short skirts, but the amount of women who do this and the extremeness of it is maddening. And yes this gets carried over to church, sadly.
I understand wanting to look fashionable, but skin women skin! I say look at the Arabic teen women. They strive to look stylish with colors and designs that dont show any skin beyond their faces and hands. And the always look cool! always!!
well that's just my rant for today. Went to a church today where people dont get "dressed to impress". I hate that in churches, it becomes a fashion show instead of a reverent place. But even church who let you "come as you are" get screwed over. People really walk in any old way!!
=(

Based on the way a person lives, or is brought up even, they may not see revealing clothing as wrong. This person may "celebrate the human form" and think it's okay to wear such clothing. Not everyones definition of Christianity and it's guidelines are the same. What you may consider inappropriate, may be normal for the other person. It's all a matter of opinion, although I would have to agree with you, that revealing clothing is not becoming of a Christian woman, especially in the church environment.

Maybe the women who do those types of things are just plain ignorant because they spend most of their time following worldly pursuits instead of reading the Bible and so it never even occurs to them that they might be putting a stumbling block in the way of their Christian brothers.
1 Timothy 2:9 Likewise also that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and discretion, not with braids or gold or pearls or expensive clothing, 10 but which is fitting for women professing godliness, by means of good works.

Even Christians are human, some of them even more sensual and immature than others. This is simply an indication of a sick addiction of fleshly lusts which wage warfare with the spiritual, becoming a system that is established as a fortification in their minds so that the behavior is justified in their life.

i have self belief that each and each man or woman is entitled to their opinion and that i have self belief that this isn't what God planned to happen, yet you're genuinely nonetheless a Christian in case you help gay rights. Its form of like conserving that human beings that...imagine cussing is okay are not Christian. it truly is ridiculous, i recognize extremely some Christians who cuss! So i imagine you're nonetheless a Christian in case you help gay rights. God will continually choose you fairly.:-)

I'm with you, I'd like to know this too. I see this all the time and don't get it. If I know how to dress modest why don't others? Maybe they haven't been taught? Maybe they don't know? How could they not know? Good question.

Maybe she really isn't a Christian, remember the wheat and tares, or maybe she seeks a Christian mate.
