A great American president would certainly disagree with you.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -Teddy Roosevelt
What if these protesters are right, that we had no right to invade Irag, that Saddam wasn't a real threat, that we dropped the ball by going after Saddam instead of Osama?
Most of the rest of the world believes this so why shouldn't some Canadians believe this, too?
I've never liked war protesters (I didn't like them protesting when I was serving in Viet Nam) because they do demoralize our troops. But it is their moral right in any moral democracy to do so.

If these people have a problem with the war's conduct and the policy behind it then they have their right to voice their opinions because this is the hallmark of a true democracy. It may not be perfect, we may not like it, but it would be hell of a lot better than if we were under a theocracy or a facist or a communist regime.
The moment however that these protesters spit, heckle and bray at the troops (like what those miserable hippies did to Yank troopers post-Vietnam), then forget shooting them I say nuke 'em!

unpatriotic? The patriotic thing would be to go against it since the war is unjust and the ones telling them to go war are wrong too. The law may be the law but the law isnt always right. If we start shooting people for going against an unjust system we are just as bad as the people we are fighting in Iraq.

I do not believe the protestors are protesting the soldiers themselves. I personally do not believe in the "peace keeping" in afgahnistan but I do support the soldiers, it is not their faults that they have been throw into a fight and I will always donate to a cause supporting them and their families, however if a protestor is actually protesting the soldiers rather than the war, yeah, I'd shoot em

Yea lets kill the protesters because they disagree with the Canadian troops who are fighting for the rights of people so they can protest. Whats the since of fighting for freedom if your going to take away freedom of speech?

No. I think that those who support war are naive, and have something wrong with them. War is uncivilised. Supporting war and supporting troops are two differ tent things entirely. Supporting war is supporting the blood-thirsty activities of politicians. Supporting troops is supporting the minions of the politicians.

Of coarse not! Having traveled to over 24 countries on my own I have found that the only real freedom we have over most other countries is the right to question and bad mouth our government. All that Bush is doing is rallying the terrorist against us. Bin Laden couldn't be happier. Bush is turning this nation and others into nations of cowards.

Do I think poople be sent to war to protect the rights of their citizens from being violated from foriegn nations, only to have those rights violated by their own government good? i think not. cut out the middle man, don't send out the troops and just have them shoot the citizens at home. problem solved. i'd gladly take a bullet if i was stuck in canada eh, esp sober

As Voltaire once said in Candide regarding military service : " they hanged a few to encourage the rest ". Only desparate circumstances allow things like that to happen. Russian and German army provost marshals often shot men in the field who retreated with out orders.
