Please don't say the Koran or Bible either. Really, where do I simply begin? My soul is hungry for something. Lately, I have just been meditating day and night every spare chance I get (I have kids) and NO TV whatsover. Where do we begin? Nothing is right in our physical world, it doesn't take a genius to realize that. Where did it go wrong, and why? Who made it so? What happened?

Look within yourself. Seek to know who you truly are, the divine spark of life within you.

Study the teaching of the Spiritual Masters (Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Lao Tzu, etc...) not the religions that were spawned from their teachings.

Here is the best advice I have ever found for seeking Truth.....

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

You know what happened, someone liked the idea that they could mess others up, others agreed with this ideology, and it kept going and going and going. Don't meditate that often, the brain needs time to rest, to not do anything, which opens our minds up in a way that meditating can't because we will wind up becoming either frustrated or wondering why some question was not answered. This is why everyone should do something. Quality is always more important than quantity.
To find the truth in anything you always have to start with the first event. There is no way to advance without starting at the beginning. You have to have an idea of what you actually believe too. Or perhaps, what you are willing to look at, while keeping an open mind in case your biases or basic assumptions are proven wrong. Sometimes kids say some interesting things. They ask questions, mostly. They are curious also. Everyone was at one time or another. They do not always know how to arrive at the answers. Truth is kind of like that.

You are seeking answers to questions that have no answers. It is all a matter of perspective. Much more meaningful to focus on where you are at in life, how and why you got there, what you want to improve, and how to go about making it happen - this holds particularly for non-material aspects of life. These are things within your power to change, and they are the things that make life meaningful. The rest, bleh, a philosophical puzzle and often misdirected emotion. If your soul is hungry, first make sure it's not your heart that needs feeding. Beyond that, try simply taking in the beauty of nature, your children, and all the rest that is wonderfully amazing can be a big boost. Yes, the world is screwed up, but when that is all you can see, it's called depression. Religion doesn't change much of anything. Friends, family, community, doing something to improve your little patch of the world... that's how to affect change. Good luck.

The quest for truth starts with one's self. Meditate on your own thoughts and beliefs. What seems right to you. Chances are you won't find an established religion that fits your beliefs. I didn't, even though I looked for two years. I eventually ended up writing my own philosophy and beliefs about the knowledge I had obtained those years, and after many hours of thought and meditation. It all comes down to What do YOU Believe? TV is not a bad thing. It is an important part of modern society, but it is good that you are making time for mediation. Just make sure you have time for your kids. They should be the most important thing in your life and their needs should come before your wants. Don't get in a rush and think things through. Remember, people change and your beliefs will undoubtedly change. Just find out where you stand, not where you are told to stand.

These are questions we all ask of ourselves hon. I suppose it depends on what truth you are seeking. I'd say look within yourself and figure out what you know to be true, then work on what you are not sure about, one thing at a time.

I found my soul filled when I realized the truths of the Bible, but I know you do not want to start there, so other than the above, I can't help you much. For myself, there was an empty spot in my soul that only God could fill.

Hi Bean

If you are really interested in the answer to these questions I suggest that you get a copy of a book called the course in miracles.

It explains these concepts you are speaking of in great detail, and a whole lot more.

I was in a similar situation when someone told me about the course and it completely changed my life.

I suggest that you meditate and ask your internal guidance about the course.

Things are not as bad as they seem. Used copys are often available on ebay.If you have trouble finding one I may be able to help.

If I can ever assist you, email.

Love and blessings don

The quest for truth begins in your heart. It looks like you found the spot. Mankind is sinful, which is why the world is in the shape its in. We all begin there, but God offers a way out of the sinfulness through His Son. When you've found that spot you'll be able to hear the answers to your questions.

Within ones self. Look inside of your heart and soul. Open your mind to let new ideas and outlets of relief flood in and fill you with inner peace and joy. Think of only pleasant thoughts, of beauty, love, light, joy and faithfulness to your own self. Be willing to take a trip to the place where no one else but you can go. Deep into the recesses of your mind and free it of the encumbrances holding you back from the truth, Let all enter in an open manner and regard it with faith, honesty and a new beginning...........

Go for a walk, ride, whatever. START by talking to God. Tell Him you're interested in finding the TRUTH and to lead the way.

Not much hope for you. Jesus said, "My word is truth". If you reject what God calls truth (The Bible), there is nothing left but error.
